Kieta placer

In Kieta tradition sherds. Well sorted fine to medium grain, placer sands, rich in opaque iron oxides and hornblende, lesser plagioclase feldspars.

Fabric Class:

Amphibolic: High levels of amphiboles. Feldspars and igneous lithics present.

Andesitic Arc: Dominated by andesite and basalt lithic fragments, with microlitic, felsitic and vitric textures, and the andesite minerals (plagioclase, clinopyroxene and sometimes hornblende).
