Samoan basaltic lithic A

Four subtypes. Sand temper rich in chilled tachylitic VRF grains and containing either olivine and/or clinopyroxene in addition to plagioclase.

Fabric Class:

Lathwork: Dominated by lathwork inclusions.

Oceanic Basalt: Mainly contain olivines, clinopyroxenes and plagioclase, and have lathwork and mafic vitric lithic fragments.
