Efate partially placered

Partially placered local sand temper, with dominant proportion of plagioclase, but significant proportions of clinopyroxene and opaque iron oxides. Microlitic fragments in which birefringent plagioclase microlites are embedded in tan to brown volcanic glass, felsitic fragments composed of microgranular quartz-feldspar mosaics formed by devitrification of felsic volcanic glass, and vitric or fragments of tan to brown (or red) volcanic glass.
