Efate opaque-rich placer

OEPT. Strongly placered stream sand temper with dominant proportion of opaque iron oxides and subequal proportions of plagioclase and vitric volcanic rock fragments. Microlitic fragments in which birefringent plagioclase microlites are embedded in tan to brown volcanic glass, felsitic fragments composed of microgranular quartz-feldspar mosaics formed by devitrification of felsic volcanic glass, and vitric or glassy fragments of tan to brown (or red) volcanic glass.
