Kadavu hornblendic

From Kadavu, with green-, brown- and oxy- hornblendes. Pyroxenes include clinopyroxene and hypersthene (a orthopyroxene). Has been subdivided but this contains fabrics where the affiliation is unclear. Biotite high tempers more likely to be from western Kadavu (or Ono) and oxy-hornblende high more likely to be from eastern Kadavu (or Ono).

Fabric Class:

Calcareous-Feldspathic: Dominated by calcareous and feldspar inclusions.

Andesitic Arc: Dominated by andesite and basalt lithic fragments, with microlitic, felsitic and vitric textures, and the andesite minerals (plagioclase, clinopyroxene and sometimes hornblende).

Contains clinopyroxene and oxyhornblende. May come from Ono mixed andesite or may be from Eastern Kadavu. Waisomo Ono sherd.
