Quartz-rich dacitic volcanic sand temper.
Glass-rich dacitic volcanic sand temper.
Andesitic temper sand in which quartz is absent or rare, but plagioclase is abundant and both pyroxenes are present.
46-29-205 has a full slide scan available (user: Guest pwd: Guest). Imaged by K. Hardy and M. Leclerc, ANU.
Quartz-poor (andesitic) volcanic sands in sherds with red pastes. Clinopyroxene dominant, but minor orthopyroxene.
Quartz-poor (andesitic) volcanic sands in sherds with red pastes.
Quartzose (dacitic) volcanic sands in sherds with black pastes.
Hybrid temper sand (85-90% of total grain population is calcareous reef detritus). Pre-latte.
Hybrid with much leeching of calcareous grains, so numbers may be unrepresentative.
Temper with reddish surfaces but uniformly dark and hackly interiors, contains quartz-rich temper sand admixed with calcareous grains.
Hybrid sand temper containing unstrained quartz as the most abundant terrigenous grain. Pre-latte.
