Madang feldspathic hybrid

CAUTION: Section less than 30microns. Mainly angular plagioclase feldspar grains about 0.2mm across which are partly sericitized. Some shelly fragments are elongate to subrounded and up to 1 mm. Volcanic rock fragments are mainly plagioclase rich consisting of microlites , minor clay and opaques. These grains are between 00.1 and 0.3 mm across. There are small granular mosaics about 0.25nm across of quartz and feldspar. The opaque minerals are subrounded and green,

CAUTION: Section less than 30microns. Mainly angular plagioclase feldspar grains (20%) about 0.2mm across which are partly sericitized . Some shelly fragments (<1%) are elongate to subrounded and up to 1 mm. Volcanic rock fragments (<5%) are mainly plagioclase rich consisting of microlites , minor clay and opaques. These grains are between 00.1 and 0.3 mm across. There are small granular mosaics about 0.25nm across (5%) of quartz and feldspar. The opaque minerals (<1%) are subrounded and green.

Madang style sherd. CAUTION: Section less than 30microns. Plagioclase (5%), volcanic rock fragments (<5%), ferruginized pellets and accessory shell fragments are all less than 0.6 m in diameter. The clay is red brown and contains abundant fine grained quartz, feldspar and iron oxides.
